Usage Right Agreement are required for any non-personal uses of Archives' materials, including publication, display, advertising, and other commercial uses, etc. purposes.
Unless specifically permitted, you may NOT use the content:
(a) as a major or minor design element on an e-commerce Web site, video game or CD-ROM.
(b) as part of marketing, advertising or promotional materials, including print ads, mailers, handouts and packaging.
(c) in connection with your business or entity, e.g., in logos, corporate identity documents and letterhead.
(d) in magazines and newspapers, and on book covers.
(e) as decor in an office, lobby or public area, restaurant, or retail store.
You may not distribute the content, electronically or in hard copy. You may not authorize any third party to use the content for any commercial purpose.
You agree not to:
Digital files are provided "as is". The Library makes no representation or warranty, either express or implied, included but not limited to any implied warranties of quality of image, or compatibility with any computer hardware or other equipment, operating system or software program. Unless indicated that an image has a model or property release, no such release exists.
* Use any image in any manner that might be considered defamatory, libellous, pornographic, fraudulent, infringing or tortious, whether directly or in context or juxtaposition with specific subject matter or by altering it in anyway.
* Use the image or permit the use of the image in any way that violates the person's right of privacy or publicity.
* Infringe on any trade name, trademark or service mark or to otherwise use an image for any unlawful purpose.
* Place the image online in a down-loadable or ftp format.
 Use of photographic images from archival or special collection web sites is permitted for PERSONAL, NON-COMMERCIAL USE ONLY without a written rights usage agreement. Personal use means the patron wants the image for personal reference and has no plans to formally publish the image. Display of image for classroom use is permissible.
