Jan Zastrow is responsible for overseeing the Hawaii Congressional Papers Collection, comprising the papers of Hawaii delegates to the U.S. Congress, and heading the Archives & Manuscripts Department of the University of Hawaii Library.

Zastrow brings to the position a broad background in information and records management. Her professional archival experience includes work at the Hawaii State Archives, Iolani School Archives, the Hawaiian Mission Children's Society Library (Mission Houses Museum), and at UHM's Bachman Hall processing the papers of then-UH President and Chancellor Kenneth P. Mortimer. Zastrow is past president and longtime member of the Association of Hawaii Archivists, the Society of American Archivists (SAA), the SAA Congressional Papers Roundtable, and the Academy of Certified Archivists.

Currently Zastrow is working on bringing together all the papers of Hawaii delegates to the US Congress; processing existing papers in the collection; providing intellectual access to the papers through creation of finding aids; and raising public awareness of the collection to researchers, students, potential donors and others through public relations and special events.
