| Franko Foma Osipovich. Born Nov. 1885 in the village Budriany Kovensk guberniia. He worked as a batman (orderly) in the Sixth Regiment of the Border Guards in Harbin. He deserted and in May 1910 on the ship Nippon Maru he came to Hawaii. On the Big Island he worked on a plantation and helped build highways. He married to Neskromnaia Anisiia Vasil'evna, b. 1894. They had a daughter. In April 1916 he and his father-in-law rented 43 acres in Papaloa and became homesteaders. When he met Trautshold he was clearing his land, and said he would only return to Russia within three years when he became the owner. |
