Fominykh Afranasii Ivanovich. Born Jan.18, 1882 from a peasant Old Believer family. He worked as a drayman in Harbin. In 1909 on the ship Siberia he came to Hawaii. For five months he worked on a plantation. Then he moved to San Francisco where he worked in a saw-mill. At the end of 1913 he returned to Honolulu where he was a general worker and sometimes a painter. Before repatriating to Russia, he changed his mind and stayed in Honolulu. Trautshold notes: "changed his mind not returning; refused to bring photo; application not sent. Handed in his photo through a friend on Jan. 1 when it was too late. Application will be sent but he cannot claim any assistance from Government."
